Ray Fortney is an experienced executive search consultant with over 40 years in general management and executive leadership, and executive search, with an extensive background in the cleantech, energy and engineering/construction sectors. He has worked for Fortune 100 global companies and small venture-backed startups. Ray was previously a partner at David Powell, Inc. and Spencer Stuart. He was also the Founding Partner of Cleantech Search, the executive search business of the Cleantech Group, LLC.

Ray has successfully completed assignments for Fortune 500 firms, and venture capital and private equity back companies in industry, technology and the cleantech sectors. These assignments have included CEO, C-level and VP level searches across all disciplines and functions. He leverages his executive experience in the engineering and utility industries to better assist his clients. As a member of Cleantech Leadership Solutions, the LGES Cleantech Practice, Ray specializes in energy generation, alternative energy, nuclear power, smart grid, water, and energy efficiency.

Prior to his career in executive search, Ray held several executive positions including President and CEO of VECTRA Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCTR), an international services and technology company serving the power industry. He was previously executive vice president of CellNet Data Systems, a provider of smart grid technology for electrical utility industry. Ray also served as President and CEO of Impell Corporation and a group president at Combustion Engineering, Inc. (NYSE: CE), serving the nuclear, fossil and renewable energy industry. He has served on public, private, international, and non-profit boards of directors. His background includes extensive international experience with major clients in Canada, England, France, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. Ray began his career as an officer in the US Navy Nuclear Submarine program and served on nuclear submarines in San Diego and Hawaii. Ray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with distinction) from the US Naval Academy and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (NRC Scholarship). He also attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He has been licensed as a Professional Engineer in over 20 states.

Ray lives in Danville, California. He is active in community affairs including education, charities, and public policy, and is a member of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association's President Circle. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Aircraft Carrier Hornet Foundation and the USS Hornet Museum.

Lindsay A. Lautz was a founding partner for eight years at Lautz, Grotte, Engler & Swimley, a leading senior level retained executive search firm located in San Francisco. Lindsay is a former partner of Wilkinson & Ives (1992 - 1997), a senior level retained executive search firm. In 1990, Lindsay began his search career as a principal at Korn/Ferry International. Over the past seventeen years, Lindsay has successfully completed a significant number of searches in all functional areas in such industries as consumer products/electronics/services, hardware, media and telecommunications, broadcast and interactive television, and entertainment for pre-IPO Internet ventures and large multinational corporations.

In 1981, Lindsay co-founded Positive Video, Ltd., Northern California's first postproduction only facility, which specialized in electronic editing of video tape, special effects, audio, and animation for video programs and TV commercials for over 600 corporations, TV stations, advertising agencies, universities, governments, and independent production companies throughout the world. Lindsay developed Positive Video into one of the most respected facilities in the United States. The firm's work was acknowledged with numerous Emmy Awards, Clios, and a Grammy. Positive Video was sold in 1987 to Groupe André Perry of Quebec, Canada, and Lindsay stayed on until 1989 as president and CEO.

Lindsay joined Fromm & Sichel, Inc., a subsidiary of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons of New York, in 1973. Fromm & Sichel, based in San Francisco, was the worldwide distributor of The Christian Brothers wines, brandy, and champagne. Initially, Lindsay was involved in the development of St. Regis Napa Vineyards and their currently leading non-alcoholic wine. In 1974, he was promoted to vice president, human resources, and in 1977 he was elected to the position of vice president and Treasurer, becoming one of the youngest officers in the history of the company.

Lindsay's early career was with Associated Freight Lines, an interstate common carrier, where he served in several capacities, ending as manager, human resources and administration for Associated's operations in Los Angeles.

Lindsay received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Randy is an experienced search consultant with over 25 successful years in executive sales management, business development, and market development roles. He has worked for Fortune 100 global companies and small emerging venture backed startups. Prior to joining Leadership Group Executive Search (LGES), Randy was one of the founding Partners of Momentum Group and a Partner with Cleantech Search, both boutique retained search firms here in the Silicon Valley. Previously, he was a Principal with Michael Reich & Associates a search firm focused on early stage technology companies here on the west coast, and started his search career as a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles in their Silicon Valley office.

Randy has successfully completed assignments for Fortune 500 firms, and venture capital and private equity backed companies in industry, technology and the cleantech sectors. These assignments have included CEO, C-level, and VP level searches across all disciplines and functions. As a partner of LGES, he is a member of their International Technology Practice and Cleantech Leadership Solutions, the LGES Cleantech Practice. Randy specializes in smart grid, water, energy efficiency, and technologies that improve transportation efficiency.

Prior to his search career, Randy held several executive positions including VP Sales Octel Communications, and Senior Director International Business Development Lucent Technologies. Randy was an investor in CellNet Data Systems, a provider of smart grid technology for electrical utility distribution systems. His professional background includes executive management experience in technology, consulting, manufacturing, and transportation. His background also includes extensive international experience with major clients in Canada, Mexico, China, Singapore, Europe, and Brazil.

Randy has spent the past 10 years focused on the technology recruitment market, working with a broad range of global companies, and has served as a consultant in the areas of sales operations, alliances, and strategic planning. His experience in the semiconductor, communications and transportation industries provides him with a strong management and technical foundation to serve emerging cleantech companies in the materials, solar, smart-grid and transportation.

Randy earned a BA in Economics and Communications from Ripon College, and attended the Executive International Program at Thunderbird University.

Randy lives in Woodside, California. He is active in community affairs including education, charities, and sits on the advisory boards of several companies here in the Silicon Valley.

Michael Lee is a successful executive recruiter in the technology markets. He is known for having a thorough understanding of his client’s requirements and being able to construct and deliver a search strategy whose rationale is compelling. Historically, Michael has worked with private and early-public tech firms. He typically recruits at the C-level, board-level and VP-level.

With 16 years experience in the executive search industry, Michael has conducted over 170 assignments in the US and Europe. He has worked with clients in the portfolios of Sequoia Capital, Mayfield, Benchmark, Accel, NEA, Walden, Charles River Ventures, Apax, TCV and Mohr Davidow. His public company clients have included eBay, EMC, Siemens, BT, Cendant and TIBCO. Michael has worked from offices in New York, Silicon Valley, London and mainland Europe. He has a keen understanding of how to build an international, growth-oriented company.

Michael was most recently a partner with a transatlantic executive search firm, Calibre One. He began his career at the United Nations in New York, before working for Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte in corporate tax. Michael was also a partner with two other international search firms. One was Norman Broadbent International, a London Stock Exchange-listed executive search firm with revenues exceeding $250M.

Bob is an experienced search consultant with over 30 successful years in Sr. Executive Management with some of the most notable Wireless Companies in the US. Through his tenure as an executive he has had a role in developing a number of dynamic wireless regions in the Western United States.

Prior to joining Leadership Group Executive Search (LGES), Bob was the founder of Robert Forman & Co., where he focused on executive search in Wired and Wireless Companies, and in the Oil and Gas sector. Previously, he was an equity partner in the Silicon Valley office of CT Partners, where within five years and beginning with fourteen partners it grew from a national technology recruitment firm to one of the most successful International Recruitment firms today. His career in recruiting began when he was made Partner at Heidrick and Struggles in Silicon Valley.

Bob has successfully completed assignments for both public and private Wireless and Technology focused companies both nationally and internationally. His assignments have included BOD, CEO, CFO, SVP & EVP World Wide Sales, as well as VP of Sales. Additionally, he has completed work with a focus on CIO and VP of IT positions in Oil & Gas.

Prior to search, Bob held several Senior Level positions including Regional President and Regional VP for AT&T Wireless, McCaw Cellular and Bell South Mobility. He was a Regional President for one of the largest start-ups in the history of this industry at Next Wave Telecom.

Before his path changed focus, Bob was an Instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design where he was responsible for both the BA and MFA student curriculum, including graduate thesis development and evaluation. His personal work was shown and collected in the United States and Europe, where he lectured as a guest of the Dutch government. His work has been exhibited at museums and galleries throughout the United States and abroad.

Bob earned his BA in Art with a minor in Business from the University of Puget Sound. and his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Kirsten’s search experience covers the technology and clean technologies sectors. She has successfully conducted searches at the CEO and Vice President levels in all functional areas including highly technical leadership roles.

Her high tech search experience includes all areas of networking and communications, semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, wireless, software, and service providers. Kirsten’s clients include venture backed start ups to Fortune 500 global enterprises.

As a member of Cleantech Leadership Solutions, the LGES Cleantech Practice, Kirsten specializes in alternative and emerging fuels, energy storage, and solar energy. Bob Currie is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of sales, marketing, and general management experience who brings deep expertise in the enterprise software and executive recruiting arenas. Most recently, Bob founded the executive search practice for Nucleus Partners, a Silicon-Valley based strategic consulting firm. Prior to that, Bob was a member of Spencer Stuart's Technology, Communications & Media Practice. Before joining Spencer Stuart, Bob, acting as interim chief executive officer, led the turnaround of a technology startup. Additionally, he served on the board of advisors for five technology companies, including Enginex Networks, Quiq, and Wirestone International.

Bob has an unparalleled career in developing technology businesses. Prior to his interim corporate turnaround effort, Bob spent three years at Brio Technology, a business intelligence and data management technology company headquartered in Palo Alto. As executive vice president and general manager of worldwide operations, he managed the fast-growing firm as it skyrocketed from $3 million to over $130 million in annual revenues, including its IPO in 1998 and acquisition of SQRIBE Technologies in 1999. Prior to Brio, Bob held numerous sales leadership positions with Sybase (during their fast-growth period from 1988 to 1996), including vice president and general manager of North America and vice president and general manager for their European operations. His sales management expertise contributed to the firm's meteoric growth ($4 million in annual revenues in 1988 to over $1 billion in 1996) as well as its IPO in 1991.

Previously, Bob launched his own firm in partnership with another sales colleague. They provided sales and sales management training on a consulting basis and, in a separate function, worked with Verifone and others on Electronic Card/SmartCard market introductions. Bob started his career at Itek Corporation, rising quickly to senior management positions at Control Data and Martin Marietta.

John Calamia joins LGES from Calamia and Associates, Inc., where he was president and founder. John is a senior executive search professional located in New York whose clients include firms such as Tibco, Cognos, Business Objects, Backweb, Visible Path, Fortify Software, and Mark Logic. His successful searches for premier venture firms include Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Carmel Ventures, BRM Capital, and Sigma Partners.

John’s 25 years of operational experience include senior executive positions at Cullinet Software, the #1 enterprise database vendor of the 80s; Sybase, the fastest growing relational database software company of the 90s; and Vignette, a software firm boasting one of the most successful IPO’s of 2000. In addition, John held the position of vice president of sales for Riversoft PLC, a public company traded on the London Stock Exchange.

John is largely credited with establishing market dominance over a seven-year period for Sybase in the Financial Services market as national director for sales in financial services. After exceeding his quarterly revenue goals for an impressive 20 consecutive quarters, he went on to hold a similar position at Tivoli, where he succeeded in generating over $150 million in revenue in less than two years.
